Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

It doesn't does it? Lots on social media about Chris's disappearance, like everyone I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

fingers crossed, but as you say doesn't sound good. Not like it's some mountain newbie who has casually got lost, and it's not a place you'd want to be stuck at this time of year either :-(

It's local to me, a popular circuit of 4 Munros I've walked and ran quite a few times.

Helicopter was out all day yesterday, and first thing this morning, but cloud has come right down now so doubt it will still be able to operate.
If he'd just tripped and injured himself on the standard route I'd of thought they'd have found him yesterday as it's all open ground, so guessing he's got disorientated and is somewhere off route.

So sad, but suppose there's still a glimmer of hope depending how much gear he had with him......

I was just thinking last week that it was time of year to start packing more "just in case" gear for trips in the hills.

A bivvy bag that packs down to the size of an apple isn’t a bad thing to have in bumbag or pocket

my emergency bivvy went back into the bumbag a couple of weeks ago. Today I'm wondering if I can fit my storm shelter in instead!
