Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sounds great - I reckon I'll give it a try next year. I did the Medoc marathon this weekend and it was bloody fabulous, I am sold on the eating, drinking and fancy dress method of marathon running now! :)

Glad to see everyone enjoyed the event. I was Batman the race director. If you guys have any feedback for me I would appreciate it, including areas to improve. Apologies re the chip timing, I'm still waiting for Sport Systems to sort it....very frustrating. I've already put a request in for next year to turn the heat down by 10 degrees. Just for info you guys got through a lot of wine but also over 2500 litres of water!

That was Hot and harder than i expected, but i do have a cold and several other excuses if your interested. Nice medal and t-shirt and great aid stations. Now looking forward to Beachy. I hope its a little cooler, but you should be careful what you wish for, according to my mum.

That was an amazing race! My first ever marathon, and it was tough but brilliant. Everyone was so friendly and supportive. Can't wait till next year! SpeedyMel, were you and Kate the superheroes?

Yes Ruth we were the drunken Superheroes!! Well done on your first, it was good to see you, and you looked fitter than us!! :-)

AB, it was a great race, the only thing we thought was funny was the race description of "lumpy with one big hill". Maybe next hear you might want to put "lumpy with one hill that not only goes up for 8 miles, we make you do it twice"!! Loved the downhill back into the vineyard though, and all joking aside, great race, excellent marshalls and volunteers, lovely wine, tshirt and medal. Thanks. We'll be back (after a bit of hill training!!)

Thanks SpeedyMel. I meant one hill per lap! Glad you enjoyed it. It was great to see so many smiley faces at the finish as well as the amazing costumes. I'm gutted the chip timing company didn't perform to their normal standard. We are still waiting for them to publish the correct results :-(

Tbh, we took so long drinking wine and messing around we didn't even think about our times at the end!! First race we haven't clock watched, so it must have been fun! ;-)
