From my research I have found out that you are partially right. Crowded House was formed in Melbourne and consists of 9 group members. 3 are from New Zealand including, the primary songwriter Neil Finn and his brother. 2 are from the USA. The remaining 4 are from Australia. Given that the largest majority are Australians and that the band was formed in Melbourne, I think you can feel less insulted that everyone thinks they're from Australia.
