Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Aussie bands - blimey we're really not trying are we (and these are ALL bands with at least one bonafide awesome song - I could do more if we were talking bands with 0 good songs), here's a quick off the top of my head list:

Go Betweens (also both Robert Forster and Grant McLennan solo), Triffids, Dirty Three, Grinderman, The Saints, The Moles, Crime and the City Solution, Radio Birdman, The Hoodoo Gurus, The Scientists, The Laughing Clowns, The Aints, Ed Kuepper, The Birthday Party

@Wine Legs - I just saw your post saying that crowded house were a kiwi band and I didn't believe you.
From my research I have found out that you are partially right.
Crowded House was formed in Melbourne and consists of 9 group members.
3 are from New Zealand including, the primary songwriter Neil Finn and his brother.
2 are from the USA.
The remaining 4 are from Australia.
Given that the largest majority are Australians and that the band was formed in Melbourne, I think you can feel less insulted that everyone thinks they're from Australia.

Maybe, but they don't exist without the Finn borthers, who are kiwi...

besides, no Aussie would sing about Te Awamutu... they wouldn't even know where it is.

Got something to say?
