Thanks team. I take it 96-100% is time NOT in AF though?

Is your AW competent at doing “running watch” stuff - you know the sort of thing, how far, how fast, laps, pace etc. etc.

Don't know if that will be much help macca 53 but Mark Lewis (previously always a Garmin guy) tested an Apple Watch Ultra for 6 months.

Nope. That’s in. Bummer, eh?

As Nell suggests, it’s getting better. It was a genuinely poor sports watch two years ago. It’s improving with each software release but I’m not going to pretend it’s Garmin-level yet.

That video is bloody brilliant. Admittedly having an AW Ultra and a Fēnix 7 Sapphire I’m probably the only bloke in Britain apart from him with that level of experience - but is is, as stated, bloody brilliant.

Stupid question alert but does Fetch support Apple Watch-recorded activities now? I seem to remember it being an issue int he early days but as I don't have an apple watch I've not kept up with things.

You can get some freemium software that spits out FIT files you can import. Or you can export FIT or GPX from strava or TP, both of which suck in Apple data natively.

It’s a faff, and it strongly weakens FE as a ‘log everything there’ platform.

I used TP in parallel with FE when I was as close as I’ll ever get to being a proper afleet partly because it plays properly with Zwift and partly because as a pure sports recording and analysis platform it’s objectively ‘better’. I believe TRO has used it exclusively for as long as I’ve known him - decade or so?

No worries, matey. I was just curious. Sounds similar to the rowing ErgData app which can do a basic automated link to Fetch but if you want splits and HR stats etc on here you need to do a manual import of a file.

Thanks guys - sounds like a whole pile of faff with extra added faff for good luck. I spoke to Garmin who were very positive when they thought I was going to buy a new watch but went into corporate robot mode when I asked about monitoring heart rhythm issues, viz below

Garmin wearables are not medical devices, and the data provided by them is not intended to be utilized for medical purposes and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

I’ll take that as a “no”!

Back to the drawing board….
