Very personal, isn't it? I don't need cushioning either, so prob not a very good advisor. Never got on with Roclites. Loved Mudclaws, X-talons (still my go to) for grip, but not much cushioning. Hoka Rapa Nui protected my feet over ultras, soles and toes, but rubbish grip. Hope you find one that works. :-) G

I was going to suggest going up half a size and fit an insole in. I use felt! Which gets flattened at some point, but it gives extra "bounce" and for me: warmth!

Well, inov-8 makes insoles for sale now inov-8.com so you could try adding them to the shoe you like for grip.

Got something to say?

About This Thread

Maintained by Homer
years ago, I used to run off-road in Inov8 Roclites.....then one day I discovered Hoka Speedgoats and never looked back.

They are just sooooo much more comfy

BUT

This time of year comes around and the mud defeats the 5mm lugs on the Speedgoats.

BUT

I dont much fancy using the Roclites.... as much as I'd like the extra grip, I just want the plusher ride

So..... Any suggestions please?
