Well done Turtle :-) bunting 600 bunting 600 bunting

It's not bad here in Chesterfield, we had snow this morning that had settled but by 3pm it was mainly slush - a nice 5k, finishing at the canal. It was very muddy and wet down there. :-)

Re: running in snow, I used to live near some trails that were hardly ever used when it was snowy - so I would often run there and be the first to leave my footprints. I would just slow the pace and pick up my knees a bit more than usual.

bunting for ChrisHB and also for Greg for combined walk and run total of 700 bunting

and bunting for Turtle's 600.

Looking forward to Corrah's core exercise session.

SarahWoo - I can't do proper press-ups either, but I'm a lot nearer to it than I was a year or two ago. I started off with my hands on a chair back; when that was beginning to feel easy I graduated to a lower chair back; then to a chair arm; then to a slightly lower chair arm; and now I have one hand on each of two box/step things (the sort of thing you have in the kitchen to stand on and reach things down from the tops of cupboards). I think that may be as far as I'm going to get. If I lived in a house with a staircase, instead of a bungalow, I could try the bottom stair.

A strange thing happened this afternoon. I had not planned to go for a run today; snow on the ground, part-melted, part-re-frozen. But at about half past 3 I suddenly found myself collecting my running kit together. Hey, what do you think you're doing? the other self said to the first self. But the first self just carried on, fetching shoes, knee brace, several layers of clothing. It'll be treacherous underfoot, Other Self objected. OK, we can walk the treacherous bits, First Self replied. Anyway, the upshot was that I ran, both of me. There were slippery bits, but not many, and I took them very cautiously. I was rewarded by a huge full moon hanging in the sky before me on the outward journey; and when I turned round to come back the sky was pale gold in the south-west, with the trees black silhouettes against it (sun had already set by then). 2 miles. One for each of us.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
