Welcome Simon. :)

My new longest run has been completed. I managed the 12 as planned, even found a wee stop half way, in a Community Centre that was open. I was a bit worried I might get locked in as I didn't see anyone inside and had to use my phone for a torch in the loo as it was dark in there with no light switch.

Welcome Simon :-)

My ankles are on fire from a stinging nettle attack on my run this morning, anybody got any tips (apart from not running through them ;-))

:-0 AR but excellent opportunity taking

Successful timing at pr today, practice makes perfect, so glad I didn't retire embarrassed after first disaster. Thinking about helping at junior pr too.

That's great, AR, all ready for your HM!
Well done ferret!
How about some of those wanky long socks for future runs, Pimps? Nettles are a bugger!
My legs hurt from parkrun earlier, my time was 26.45, on a hilly course that's a great time, I am so impressed with myself. Looks like hill training really pays off :)

Back from parkrun- had Alfie so a SB for buggy running - just needed a few more seconds for a PB but it was a slow start and a warm day so lots of walking although Alfie was giving me 'go faster grandma' on my walking bits

Good parkrunning everyone. :)

PP, the only real cure for stinging nettles is dock leaves, you'd better go back out and find some, otherwise it'll be up to 2 days before your ankles will feel right again.

I have sore feet now but hopefully they'll be much better after my visit to the podiatrist next week.

Home after a lovely 14 miler with Bint on the NDW where I think we laughed almost as much as we ran :-)

My stomach went a bit wonky towards the end so we walked a bit more than I wanted to, and then all of the last mile, but it was that or have something unpleasant happen. It was a great outing even so.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
