Gary Moore is an ersatz what? I saw him with Greg Lake in, I'm guessing, the very early eighties. Good guitarist. Ugly as fuck.

It’s not that I don’t think white folk can play the blues - Bob Dylan makes a good fist of it - but there is no excuse for turning an authentic art form into soft rock pap.

I want to bring Larry Joe Bird into the conversation but I fear the tangent will be too wild even for us. Instead I shall offer William Frederick Gibbons.

Am I allowed to bring in eighties prog or modern prog to this thread..... Or will I be hunted down by a psychedelic, pitchfork bearing mob? 😁

Well in that case, can I point you in the direction of Lazuli. French prog rockers. No idea what they're on about, but they have a lovely sound with plenty of nods to older music, but with enough nuances to keep it interesting.

Bonkers - check the thread description - prog, jazz, Dylan, even Santana, CBSO and The Dan. All ‘proper music’ debate welcome.
