There must be lots of small villages and hamlets in the UK which were essentially unknown and which have become blighted by having their names pinched by service stations.

Oh, and by having a motorway built on their city limits.

GOLD: Tebay Services - motorway service stations on the M6 motorway at Orton in the Eden district of Cumbria, England.

SILVER: Gordano services, a motorway service station located at junction 19 of the M5 motorway at the southern end of the Avonmouth Bridge, west of Bristol, England, and close to Portishead.

BRONZE: Woodall services, a motorway service station on the M1 motorway near Sheffield. It lies between junctions 30 and 31. It was opened in 1968 by Trust House Forte but was renamed Welcome Break after the takeover of the company. It takes its name from the nearby village of Woodall.
BRONZE: Scotch Corner, the junction between Sloane Street, Knightsbridge and Brompton Road. It is named after Scotch House which used to be on the corner.
