1:33:21 (Newport HM) fastest, 2:53:04 (Snowdonia Trail HM) slowest. I ran 1:34 which was my fastest at the time just a month before my slowest. In terms of progression, first HM was 2:09:37 and it took me 5 halves to finally get under 2 hours but then started knocking minutes off on a regular basis ending up with a 36 minute improvement. Hoping to reach 100 Half Marathons by the end of 2021. |

Run a few as a pace maker as well as for myself. All told around 30 First was in 1997 and ran 1.29.36 Best was at the peak of ultra training in 2008 1.13.26 Slowest ever was a 2hr 11 effort as a pace maker in about 2001 Since giving up running and becoming a cyclist Last time I tried was a 1.19 effort at Basingstoke in 2014 Last run was around 90 mins as an official pacer at Swansea Generally i have been keeping myself around 80 min shape to pace. |

21....first was 2:02 Swindon 2007, when I was 44, last one 1:39, which was off road too...so suspect I should have run a road HM in the spring and knocked a couple of minutes off! The last couple of years I have only run 1 a year (jn the spring) which is probably a mistake. I 'used' to run a couple each autumn, Swindon/Stroud, just to kick start winter training, maybe I should do that again. Favourite one, Forest of Dean, very nice place to run about, fastest course, perhaps Chester! |
