Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me
51 next Birthday started running back in 1986 to help loose some weight, caught the bug and after few months joined Wrexham AC and after a couple years learning curve saw some real improvement in my running. I then ran using different schedules and training routines for the next 18 years without any real break reaching a reasonable standard over various distances enjoying some good races on road and cross country gaining a couple of county vests and also competed at the UK Inter area cross country champs for North Wales.
Reaching vet status at 40 was a turning point and work and family commitments meant

running became a chore not a pleasure and ultimately meant that training began to suffer and over the next few years days off turned to weeks off then months and finally a complete stop in late 2005. Having a brother who runs meant that conversation usually turned to running and it was early summer 2008 when a mention of him running the Snowdonia Marathon in late October raised the issue of perhaps doing some training with him, so the purchase of a Garmin Forerunner ( best piece of running kit ever invented ) followed and I started the long slog back to some sort of fitness.
Starting back was hard work but managed to do some long runs and started to enjoy it again but an older body meant curtailment by some nasty aches and pains not something I suffered much with in the past,Snowdonia marathon came and went and watching the coverage on TV proved an inspiration. Entered my first race for 5 years in the Village Bakery Half Marathon another turning point in learning to push myself again.
