About Me
Me - 36, happily married with two beautiful girls. Like most sports, good food, wine, Chelsea Fc, art, music, gadgets.

After not running since school (when 1500m was the furthest I ran!!) I decided to accept a place in the VLM 2012, training went well, but race day went wrong at 14 miles when I tore my hip flexor and limped round the last 12.2. Finished in 4.57.30. Gutted. So set my mind to VLM 2013, but then was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic, stupidly I decided to attempt the VLM 2013!
All was going ok until 25k when I started to 'cramp up' due to being dehydrated as it was a little hotter than I had expected. Finish in 4.51.04 - Gutted again!

I decided to not run any marathons in 2014 and get my diabetes under better control and work on getting my hafl mara time down before VLM 2015!!!

I'm chasing a sub 4 mara and won't stop until I get it!

Any advice from fellow diabetic runners will be more than welcome.

"You know your a runner when 5 miles is a short run..."

Happy Running.
