After losing a lot of weight and being challenged to run a marathon I had a breif flirtation with being a runner. At the time I loved it, couldn't imagine not running in future, really enjoyed my marathon and was thrilled to finish.
I took a planned two week rest period after the marathon and then started to run again. It was hard work. It seemed so much harder than it had been just a few weeks earlier. Looking back I guess that the biggest difference was that I didn't have a goal.
During the second half of 2009 and 2010 I ran intermittently. In early 2011 I decided to run the Sudbury 5 at Easter so I upped my training. It fell away again over the summer but I got back into it in September and did the Southwold 10k in November.
In 2012 I'm aiming for at least 3 races and thinking about joining FERC.
