Jill Oliver Edmonton 10k, the same race I did as my first proper race 4 years ago in 57:xx. It had rained all night, all the way down the M11 and all through the race. The surface was mainly canal towpath which was saturated with loads of puddles. Many were puddle dodging - I ran in a straight line. A bit of a breeze around swirling the rain which was persistent. It did mean it was cool and in only my vest and shorts, it meant I wasn't bogged down with heavy kit. Had to really dig in around 5 miles and tried to hang on to 2 guys to keep the pace, and managed a slightly stronger finish as the feet were feeling really heavy. Overall a new PB and a nicely organised event.
