Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Sunday 21st (Happy Bday big sis) Run Melbourne 10k

My slowest ever 10k but the 10 day plan failed at day 5 due to being ill and having not run for a week and the training being non-existent I just focused on getting round, running every step except at water stations however, had to walk at 9k as we went along the pedestrian bridge by the MCG - it was moving due to the number of runners on it and made me feel dizzy. Undulating route but a superb downhill at 4k. Mick kept on popping up taking photos which kept me going. Met the running gang at the start but they soon left me behind but I had time to enjoy the fancy dress (theme was super heroes from marvel comics), the en-route music and dancing. Ridiculous trying to get 7,700 people through a single lane underpass so I avoided the bottleneck by playing chicken crossing the road (it wasn't a shortcut and the marshalls did suggest it......).

Managed to get an invite to the Runners World VIP lounge which saved the bag queues, free massage, drinks, sandwiches, coffee bar and an excellent showbag so will remember that for next big event. Took the train down instead of driving which worked out perfectly but meant an early start!

Met up with the gang at the Riverside bar, some good results from the team today...if I train it might be me next time. ;-)

Well done for doing it. Sounds like the worst possible build up. Better next time no doubt! Sounds like Runners World VIP lounge is the place to be too!
