Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

Bath Half Marathon

81st 1:15:38 chip, 1:15:44 gun
Official 10k split: 35:15 - lost about 1 minute to the group I was running with at that point by the finish.

Set off pretty hard, saw Miser around 2 miles and had a little chat. Found a group to run with for the remainder of the first lap and it all felt pretty comfortable. Hamstrings started to tighten on the climb round the square on the second lap and was pretty much hanging on from there onwards. Miser came back past around 10 miles(?) and managed to hang onto him for a while but the climbs (not that they are very steep) were a real struggle and lost touch in the last mile.

Al in all though happy with the run, managed (unofficial)10k/10mile PB and a proper HM PB (139 seconds) along the way and all shoe horned into Marathon training. A sub 75 might be in me somewhere with a bit more taper, more hamstring flexibility and better pacing :).

Only downside is that HM pace training runs become even harder ;).

Impressive time. Well done mate. Happy with that?
FellSurfer
Thanks. Added a few comments now :). Would have liked to break 75 (obviously) but overall happy.
SteveV
Thought you might be after sub 75. Its in you though and to do what you did at the peak of marathon training says it all. Im not seeing much improvements anymore, maybe need to address the way I train :-)
Miser
Excellent run. When you came past me to join that group you looked very strong. You've been putting in the training - after the marathon you'll be able to seriously revise all these pbs.
