Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Just outside my target 70% WAVA, but can't argue with a PB, particularly given the lack of taper and long runs, and that I could barely run on Friday. Glad not to let my punters down! Frustratingly, had the race been 29 days later, or me born 29 days earlier, I would have been >70%.

Probably felt a little easier than last year, and I didn't notice the hills quite so much. Fantastic day for it - bright sunshine but still quite cool.

Note for future reference - usual pre-(long) race breakfast of fruit and fibre and toast at 7:45, but topped up with a banana at about 9:15 - which I think helped. Also grabbed a jelly baby at 12 miles. Perhaps I should have taken two...

I now need to do that all over again on Saturday, with an extra eight miles tacked on the end.

Good work Ed! Knew you were on for PB today - I have squandered lots of credits this weekend by forgetting about betting on both you and me. Nevermind, there'll be even more credits when you go 70%+ in your fourth 20-miler! :)

You'll note my carefully drafted targets - that DON'T say 70% WAVA for every race - just 70% WAVA at some point during the year, so I will probably have another crack in the autumn. And being a year older then (as it were) I won't have to PB to get it. Although I will want to!!

What colour was this year's hoodie, by the way?
EdJ
Bright orange. Am already having to fight off both daughters from stealing it.
arbster
Ah yes, I think Fetch described it as "Guantanamo Orange" ;-)
