Notes & Comments

Very low key preparation for this race as it was all a bit last minute, wore Magic Speeds rather than Meta Speeds, arrived late and had no real warm up.
Pretty much perfect conditions apart from the rain so I planned to run even splits from the start, overcooked the first mile before adjusting downwards to a more sensible pace for miles 2-4, fatigue kicked in and I dropped off in the final mile. Lost a few places in the final couple of hundred yards but pleased to finish without any knee or hamstring incidents.
31:47 (4½ minutes in Orange and 26 in red) is a couple of minutes slower than last year but I'm happy with how I felt, a distant 2nd M55 behind Steve Wright and plenty of work to do speed wise!
