Notes & Comments

LT 55k, or Oh no, we’re wearing the same outfit!, or Dom runs a 48 minute course best! (but go and check out  Jen’s  awesome performance strava.com ). Trashed now, muscles feel ok and the stairs in the B&B are a lot easier than last time and avoided mega blisters this time, but going to the pub is not feeling like an option right now. Particularly pleased with the finish, an 8:50 mile at 34 and a full on sprint finish. If I didn’t completely suck at technical descents I wouldn’t have had the energy left and I’d have been faster overall, but less than 100 seconds outside 10 hours I’m absolutely made up by.  I’d forgotten how gnarly and not especially runnable the middle bit was and I’d definitely forgotten the marshal warning you “narrow and exposed here, go carefully” - there is a metre or so where the rock is so narrow that I was hanging on to the rock face to be on the safe side. Would be interesting in heavy rain…
