Bedford Half Marathon 2:07:54

Early start for this one, on the road just after 7am!! Drove to Argos distribution point on the outskirts of Bedford and caught the bus to the start. Very well organised race.

Wasn't sure what to do today but had nothing to prove to myself after my PB at St Neots 3 weeks ago so thought would aim at 10 m/m and see how I felt. Very chilly morning in the wind and didn't enjoy the rain as we were waiting to start. Didn't take long to warm up on a scenic undulating course. Hills were quite tough in places and there were some steep down hill parts but otherwise a really nice course. Ran with MrJ to about 7 miles but he didn't like the hills so I went off to run a little faster. Some good support and plenty of marshals although surprised at the foam cups of water at the water stations, you can't drink enough and throw it all over yourself!

Last 800m was nearly all uphill which is cruel when you are tired, was pleased to see the finish line!

All in all a successful run, nearly a progressive in the 2nd half so happy with that :-)

Bring on the marathon training, can't wait to start :-)
