The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
48/114 The Not Fast Running Club 10k at last. Poor run in (excuse the pun) and no running buddy but….. still got a pb devised a run-walk strategy clinging on to a gentleman who was jogging along just ahead of me Sneakily passed him in the last 1/2 km in order to get my pb (apologies sir, thanks for the support but I just had to go for it!).
Delighted with the outcome. Hopefully the cherished Grizzly Bear will now come up!
Thanks to the supporters for the rousing cheer at the finish that got me running as if I'd been bowling along all the way!

What a result!! Very impressive time Tim and a load of positives to take from the event. A run walk strategy is adopted commonly and I would maybe stick with that as so many people swear by it! Well done for pushing on to the end! What is the next target??

Thanks guys, there is so much satisfaction in getting "animal" status.
Funny you should mention the next target.
I said to Caroline, "it's really harsh, they want to know what comes next already!"
"Harsh?" she said, "how come you were already looking at the Bassingham 5 mile bash to see what race you could go for next?"
Well, maybe I can just concentrate on getting some km in the legs and get back on track for the 2014 1,000 km target.

Great effort Dad! I was really pleased to hear about the PB from Mum last night:-) It sounds like the run/walk strategy worked really well for you and it will be good to see if you can get some more consistent training to get on track for the 1,000km target. Looking forward to seeing what else is to come!
