Enigma Looking back on the race I really enjoyed it. At the time, it was a lung bursting ascent and tricky descent. I know I should just let myself go on the descents, but it's pretty hard to disengage one's brain.
I'll be back for other hill races in the future though, it really is satisfying (once it's over).

SueW First ever hill race. Real hill racers are incredibly scarey people. The speed they run down the hill at you is stunning. Just under 40 minutes to the top and just under 20 down. The top 30/40 had finished by the time I reached the top! Uphill is just hard work with lots of walking. Downhill is a technique I really haven't mastered at all.

Yog-Sothoth Hard as hell, but great fun. 29 minutes to get to the summit cairn, and 13 to come down again! Not bad for my first hill race, but the speed at which the experienced fell runners ascend and descend is awesome.
