WillBill Started conservatively, this being my first 3 Peaks. Picked up the pace coming off Penyghent and had a nice, steady run on undulating tracks up Ribblesdale. Had a good climb up Whernside, despite going nearly full length at the stream crossing at the bottom. Memo to self: wet limsetone = v.slippery! Transition from steep ascent to gentle downhill seemed to result in an onset of cramp & I had to stop for a while my calves when into spasm. Agony, but short lived. Felt a bit tired on the approach to Ingleborough but much better on the steep climb to the ridge. It was a long run off the top to the finish: the mile or so from Sulber Nick (flat, moddy) was hard but kept it going reasonably well until the last couple of minutes. One more jelly baby & perhaps I would have run all the way through to the finish. But.. pleased to sneak inside 3.5 hours. Nice to bump into Owen again.
