LukeStur First time running 5000m on a track so was good experience. One of the select group of 3 of us went of too quick and I stayed fairly close - at the first lap the timekeeper shouted 1m11s and I knew we were way too fast. Let the guy get about 100m clear and then started to pull him back as he faded. Was hitting aimed 80s laps fairly consistently, passing 3 and 6 laps in 4:00 and 8:00 dead. Unfortunately a few 84s laps meant that I slipped from 16:40 pace and was then looking at over 17mins. A strong finish wasn't enough to get back under 17 which was very annoying. Great to have friends and family there to watch.
