eMpTy Winds of around 30mph made 2nd half a nightmare - 4th K 4.58. Shame as course can be fairly fast on a good day but very exposed when the wind blows.

Windsurfin' Susie Wind force 6-7 SW. Very tough running into the wind. I reckon it cost me a minute - that's the windiest I've ever raced in. Finished in 21:04 2nd W45. Not the greatest time, but I had one hell of race with Tina my closest W45 (Jane Harrop is nationally ranked and I don't think I'm going to get near her this year). I overtook Tina at the start, then she overtook me at 1km and I took her back shortly afterwards. She then took me at 3km as we struggled with the wind and held me until the last 100m when I found an extra gear and pulled back 10m in a sprint for the line. Very satisfying. Lots more to come from me for the rest of the series, but there didn't seem too much of the marathon in my legs.
