paskha Oh BOY this was HOT!!! Having blown up so badly at Launceston I soaked myself & my new hat before the start and decided to GO EASY for the first 2 miles - steep DOWN & steep UP .... then I was able to pick it up and had a good run! THANKS to lots of water stations & several people on the course with hoses, it really did help. I finished ahead of quite a few people I can't normally beat, so was well pleased although nowhere near my hoped for time (sorry Dave! who bet on me). Everyone seemed to enjoy it, there was lots of shade around miles 4,5,6. Great medal always, quality T-shirt, BBQ, bar, cuppa tea!! lots of friendly Trotters and locals. I was 2nd FV55 - bottle of Italian red AND a trophy! We were thinking it was really too far to travel, but now I remember why it's such a good event! (Pre-race comments .... Cornish GP race No.9 - Now this race I love !!! seven miles, loads of hills, FUN FUN FUN!! last year it was the ONLY running I did in July, so did a PW of 72 mins ... best time has been 65 mins (2004) so rather a risky prediction - OR put another way - I'M NOT PREPARED TO BET ON MYSELF!!)

zingy Very hot and very hilly. Great organisation and nice friendly spectators with hosepipes and unofficial drink stations! Thanks to all those people, and to the Hayle Road Runners who clearly enjoy going racing and really get behind their team. You`re all mad!!
