Scobos Hard first 6 or 7 miles into the wind. Running with the eventual 2nd placer until the last steep hill at 10.5 miles where he broke me! Just couldn't close the gap on the downhill stretch to the finish. Finshed 20secs behind him in 3rd place. A great community-run race with a truly massive amount of prizes! Well done to teammates Bedlam and Edmondo (and dd in the fun run!).

bedlam_g The first section of this race was a bit of a personal nightmare, my right hip, calf and knee were all aching from the start then after the first big hill at about 2 miles both my laces came undone and probably cost me about 40 seconds tying them, after feeling sorry for myself for a couple of miles I knuckled down lifted my pace and eventually picked off most of the runners who’d passed me. Finished in 6th place so I still managed to pick up a prize (1st – 10th all got prizes) and we also won first team with scobos coming in 3rd and edmondo in 10th. A lovely race, great organisation, bulging goody bag and loads of nice prizes.

Edmondo Tough hilly course with a fair bit of traffic whizzing by. Strong breeze against for first half and behind for the back - enough to keep midges away! Scenic and well organised (bar the dozy marshalls who were chatting at the last turn and forgot to point me in the right direction...). Post race food and prizegiving a highlight, particularly as I got a prize for being 10th man plus the team got a case of beer for being 1st. Great race - really enjoyed it.
