Broccers Great swim was out in 1:30 ish will a tough run up to transition. Full change in the changing tent where I saw my friend Jen which was nice. Onto the bike. Legs fely tired. Down the first hill and then the first climb up sheep house.... tough but doable. Flying down the other side...clunk...bang... bike wobbles then all of a sudden I am down flying across the road leg on the road with bike on top of me. Come to a stop near some marshals who don't want me to get up and want the ambulance to come. I eventually get out of my bike shoes and stand up to see the wheel has pulled out of its fixings and the brakes are skewed. Mess around with this for a bit and then shakily get back on to be told by the marshalls the ambulance is on its way. But I wasn't giving up yet so I tootle off. Feel very shakey and nauseous. Lost most of my high five in the fall. Try to eat and drink but am really struggling. Have very little energy. Have 2 little support crews round the loop who I am aiming for so they can give me a shout... I don't want to let them down. Need to pick up gatorade but too scared of falling off again to just grab a bottle so stop and pick one up. Not sure when I knew I wasnt going to make it but never did I think I wasn't going to complete the 112 miles. Rolled in 9 mins after the cut off. Bloodied and bruised but still smiling. I may not be an ironman yet but I had certainly come on a journey over the last 10 hours. Bring on the outlaw!

ironman doing germany 3 weeks before so this race is just for the day out, will be happy with 11-30, but if i feel good on the day might get 11hours-who knows. crap, the swim is long, the bike is tough, the only plus point is a cracking run managing a PB for IM
