Golden Gate Canyon Trail Race (12.7 miles, 2,500 feet ascent)

Runs With Coyotes Exactly the same route as last year. A great mountain race, through open meadows and leafy aspen groves, with some stiff climbs, 2,500 feet of them, one of which even requires the use of hands. I'm definitely fitter and faster than last year, so... ...so, well, it hurt, came seventh, beat my time from last year by almost 4 minutes... but anyway, see my blog for the full report! Funny how quickly the mind turns the pain into enjoyment when looking back. Some kind of useful survival mechanism I suspect. This is why we keep going back for more. Running. Racing. You've just gotta love it all! :-)
