Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Bodge 26 mile challenge through the Peak District passing either side of the Dovedale Valley starting and finishing at Hartington. useing as a training run for the Lomg Mynd 50. 4000ft of climbing to be done.
Boy was it a hot one today. I have never drunk so much fluid on a run in my life. This course is not for the faint hearted in the first five miles you do a lot of climbing and that is how it seems to continue up to mile 15 when you hit this mountain because that is what it felt like. I reached the top and was so light headed I needed to recover and basically from there on in to the finish I was only really able to run down the hills, walk up any incline and really struggle on the flat as I also developed a blister on my right heal. Wasn't to disappointed as I was fifth member home from from local running club and there was plenty of walkers still out there when we left with a cut off time of 11 hours. All in all a good day and several miles in the old legs. next one the wolverhampton marathon followed by the 50 mile ultra over the long mynd and there is twice as much climbing in that.
