Enigma I am a very tired but happy runner. Yes it's another PB, so lots of points for the faithful PB betters out there. I have to say that this morning I wasn't too positive about the race as I'd not had the best pre-race build up. The race itself went well enough. At 2 miles the 2 runners in front of me peeled off into the bushes (one went left and one went right) for a break leaving me with quite a gap in front to the next runner. I tried hard to close it down but it didn't really happen. With about 2 miles to go a couple of runners came past me and I managed to tag on to them which helped. The famed Donkey Brae actually wasn't too bad, but it's the running on the flat after it that is just hellish as my legs were pure jelly. Anyway a great race, did I mention that it was almost 12 minutes faster than last year??? Well done to the organisers, plenty of marshals out on the course and a nice wee medal at the end. Good to see lots of other Carnegies out running and a fair few fetchies too. Unaffiliated 46:19 46:19 47:00 46:19 65.07

Plussing As Which Racing during a marathon build up is always risky but sometimes hard to resist. 2nd race of the week - aim was to treat it as a tempo run. Set off nice and steadily and actually found myself pretty much alone by about 21/2 miles, which was actually quite good as it meant I could stick to tempo rather than getting sucked into racing... but then I just started to feel really good. At the turning point I realised that the 2nd lady was just ahead so I pushed on past her and carried on pushing. Donkey Brae really did for the legs and I didn't quite have enough left to catch 1st placed lady but really pleased with time and how the race went. Good atmosphere as usual at this event and amazingly it didn't rain until we were safely back home! Well done to all organisers and marshalls. Unaffiliated 43:39 43:39 47:00 43:39 78.25

Yano Never done a 7 mile race before so I guess it has to be a PB! Post-race update: Hot, sunny day and a good race atmosphere. Mum, sis and her kids along to support and take part in Aberdour festival. Had a sore tum beforehand and felt dehydrated and a bit listless throughout.Wrecked on Friday night, that probably didn't help. Beautiful course, lots of it on fife coastal path, with great views over the sea. Innov-8s perhaps on relflection not the best choice of race shoes as over 50% was on tarmac. Started ok but just felt weak and didn't enjoy the race. Felt like I was going backwards from halfway on and was passed a few times late on when I'm normally quite strong. The famous donkey brae itself was quite short but very steep - managed to keep going but not much left in the tank for a good finish. Could have been better from me ...good course, I'd try this again next year. Unaffiliated 47:43 47:43 52:00 47:43 63.16
