Decrepit Dad had not been sure what to expect and had not realised how much was off-road. Around 75% seemed to be on tracks around fields and some of these were heavily rutted making it impossible to maintain a normal running tempo. Started off too quickly and slowed down when I realised it but by 4 miles I was really struggling to breathe. Then went through a long period of walk/run until after a nasty steep hill between miles 9 and 10. Recovered after that and ran the last 3 miles steadily. A good bonus was the free food - including apple crumble and custard - at the finish.
