Bloody hell. They just cut into the race coverage to show the Rick and Dick Hoyte clip and I was thinking "Not this again!". 2 minutes later I'm in bits. It's just something in my eye, honestly.
Anyway, back to the racing. Daniela Ryf is making a push but had a terrible swim.

Ryf's terrible swim was due to a jellyfish sting! Doesn't seem to be slowing down her biking.

Any news on Joe Skipper? Haven't seen his name come through on the splits and timechecks yet.

Joe is doing well, superb 50:53 swim and now tucked into main group. He’s not had to chase or put his nose into the wind, as he’s been with some strong bikers.
His previous 2 Kona’s he had to chase after being 6-7 mins down after the swim with no one to work with.
With luck he’ll have plenty left at T2 and could feature in the top 10.

Pros or AGs Gobi? Looking at how crowded the course is I can't see how an AG athlete could get through without drafting! Pros have space and ought to be more careful.

It has been proven that it is impossible not to draft at Kona as an AGer. You have well over 1000 athletes in the male field exiting the water between 1:00 and 1:10, all riding bike splits within the same 15 mins. There’s not enough space for 12m between each.
