The fish was alright, but only really there becuase my Mum wouldn't let just have the chips. Nowadays, while I appreciate a good chip, it's the quality of the fish and the lightness of the batter that really makes the meal, those and some good mushy peas. I go easy on the vinegar and ketchup these days. Also, did anyone else always have bread and butter and a cup of tea with theirs?
swittle Jun 2020 1:34pm, 30 Jun 2020 65,346 posts	0 swittle In restaurants attached to fish shops, the reluctantly margarine=smeared white bread arrived just before stainless steel te- and water pots, and a milk jug too small for refills. The bread n marg was gone long before the F & C arrived.

We had bread but no ONE DOES NOT DRINK TEA and strangely, probably, I don't like hot drinks with my meal, even breakfast the coffee comes after the food or a long time before NEVER with
