I've counted as many as eight. They like to pop up and sun themselves on the logs and the bank of the little island. The ducks and geese don't seem too bothered by them, though I have heard terrapins can be a bit of a nuisance. Hopefully these ones are well-behaved!

Then I was away for a while so the supply of nuts dried up and I haven’t seen it since. We do have pine martens round here, but they are harder to photograph. The local Irish hares are much more obliging. This one was sat under a hawthorn tree in the field just in front of the bungalow. I was stood at the wall about 5 feet from it and it didn’t appear too concerned.
