There's a pond at one of the local parkrun locations that seems to have acquired some terrapins at some point. I've counted as many as eight. They like to pop up and sun themselves on the logs and the bank of the little island. The ducks and geese don't seem too bothered by them, though I have heard terrapins can be a bit of a nuisance. Hopefully these ones are well-behaved! |

Never see a red squirrel hand around long enough to photograph at home. This fellow ignored me and kept charging up, down and around this tree with his companion.

He’s not the reddest. Loads around here are like Maureen O’Hara 😁

My MIL has feeders set up for red squirrels in her garden. She gets lots coming in for a nut or two. Great to watch. |

HowFar?
I had a red squirrel that visited every day at the start of last summer. Then I was away for a while so the supply of nuts dried up and I haven’t seen it since. We do have pine martens round here, but they are harder to photograph. The local Irish hares are much more obliging. This one was sat under a hawthorn tree in the field just in front of the bungalow. I was stood at the wall about 5 feet from it and it didn’t appear too concerned. |

I love the Irish hare, HowFar? . I've seen them on Mull, but I'm not sure how they got there. Lovely squirrel, too.

Those released terrapins are an absolute menace. Luckily none have managed to breed in the uk. Yet.
