When I lost Tilda, I needed a companion for Rio, so I borrowed Archie from a friend for a few weeks 😂

Then I found a slightly bigger companion for loan, Fonz.
Unfortunately, Fonz used to get very upset being left alone when I rode Rio, which for a companion horse, wasn't ideal! I kept him for six months then he went home to his owner.

I had plenty of time to line up a replacement companion and I ended up with a real character... Rascal!!!
He was small enough, and Rio's legs long enough, that he could actually fit under Rio's tummy.
Rio and Rascal were together for two years, but then a friend approached me about taking her mare on loan while she spent a year or two focusing on her newborn daughter.
I knew this mare was a fab ride, and Rio and I had been going through some confidence issues, so Rascal went off to be pampered by my best friend's 4 year twins.

And I got Liv! A 15hh supercob. Built like a tank, and she knows exactly how strong she is when she wants something, but a fantastic ride - forward and bouncy, but ever so responsive.
Rio's sharer was out cantering her one summer when she stumbled and partially ruptured her SDFT.
The vet never seemed quite sure what the prognosis even 'might' be, but the rehab she prescribed required the yard doing a lot with Liv whilst I was at work, and was getting very expensive for me (I was supposed to be on DIY!). My friend, her owner, had since been diagnosed with a terminal illness, so sending her back was out of the question. As she wasn't officially mine, I didn't feel in a position to consider PTS, so I sold my darling Rio to finance her keep throughout her recovery 😢

Last post!
A month or so after selling my darling boy, giving up my perfect stables and moving Liv onto the main livery yard, the vet told me she was really pleased with how Liv was getting on, and she could now go back to the usual routine. She'd previously suggested a minimum of six months of rehab, which is why I'd made the dramatic changes to fund it!
Luckily, no one had yet starting renting my old stables and field, so I was asked to get those back. And, in the meantime, the yard owners had decided to fix them up (they were slightly falling down beforehand...), so they'd had a smart makeover.
Buying Rio back wasn't however an option, so I needed to find another horse. Which I did, and Poppy moved in about 2.5 years ago 
This is possibly the combination I've had the longest, which is ironic as I actually own neither of them, they're both on loan. They’re both getting on a bit now, Liv 21 and Poppy 16, with a handful of health issues and previous injuries. Both are also fairly grumpy and unpleasant.
But they are my girls and I love them

That’s a lot of horses! I think out of the ones you’ve shown us, Tilda is the most beautiful. What a lot of heartache there is with equines - after I sold Peaches and had to have Mo pts I vowed never to have another. So far I’ve stuck to that but…

More black on your Liv but Peaches is the same sort of thing. Mo was an ISH with a proper green passport - she was an ex eventer and had a huge jump (not with me, jumping anything over about a foot scares the life out of me) but it had given her back and joint problems with (eventually) arthritis.
