Ah Swittle - Even I make an appearance on your 2010 pic of the Yorkshireman. I think that was the first year I did it. Done if 5 or 6 times more since - brilliant event.

Fully agree, Brighouse Boy. I found the 'Yorkshireman' Marathon very demanding mentally, which undermined my physical effort; the Ultra Half had a very constructive 'social' element.

It was 2012 Swittle - it was part of my training for a (failed) attempt at a sub-3 at London that year.
I seem to remember that Gobi had persuaded me to run it as a 20mile progressive run - that was great as I was passing people all the way from halfway to the finish. The 2 mile warm down was absolute agony though!
BB - 5 YORHMs for me too! I'm sure I met you at one of them. Although I think I've also bumped into you at a number of other races too before I went to the dark side and started doing almost exclusively fell and orienteering.
