The book is The Things They Carried and *spoiler alert for when I finally get to the discussion thread* I am blown away by it.
I realise that’s a bad choice of words for a book of short stories about the Vietnam war but there you go.

V&A is quite good for kids and much quieter than the science or natural history museums. And a much better cafe than either

I went to the V&A once with my brother. After walking around for about 20 minutes, we looked at each other and left as we didn't find anything that interested us. I was quite disappointed.
