I did a 1500m swim last year when the water was about 20 degrees and got too hot in my wetsuit - particularly upper arms and quads. Knowing it was about 22 yesterday I thought I'd try without. It was ok and quite nice in that heat, but I think I prefer the extra buoyancy / security.

I thought UK races could be no wetsuit if it was hot enough, so I have done the odd suit-free swim to prove to me that I can.

I'm having a little while off races so it's do what I feel like rather than 'training for'. It's quite nice.

Strangely I feel like 6AM interval running tomorrow, because I've missed intervals and it's a bit hot tonight. Pre-2012 me is pointing and laughing from the sofa with a large glass of wine...

About 3 years ago Ripon Standard was so warm they had to leave wetsuits in their transition boxes. Caught a few people out, for sure.

Impressive Greppers.

Did my first run since Sunday. Not too bad considering the heat.

I've run three days in a row (obvs) - but all just a token brick effort after swimming - think the three combined add up to less than four miles.

I've spent another day at the loch. Mostly rowing a little boat with big oars, a smidgeon of Topper sailing and then safety boat cover this afternoon, wherein I got to throw an over-powered RIB all over the place, grinning like a proper hooligan :-)

Weather was variable. Worst storm I've seen I years this morning (we didn't even think about getting the masts out of the clubhouse until lunchtime), pleasant breeze this afternoon which meant even the littlest got to sail solo and a spot of sunbathing to round it all off.

Great day.

Sounds good AC, beats working for a living :-)

I've been in the lake in my wet suit, it was lovely, and I swam really well for me, perhaps Sunday was a poor one off, maybe it's too early...
