Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Vixx - I think the 55k is a great idea and with a generous time limit you won't have any worries about the time, I assuming it's not over mountains 😉

Going further than marathon distance should help overcome any trepidation about doing a marathon.

I've done 28 Ultras and Marathons. I'm just psyched out about it rather than psyched up for it :D

I sort of thought as you have said Shades that by going further I will have the miles in my legs and be more confident about the marathon distance again.

Vixx - I've heard it's a good event, I have a few friends doing it too this year and there are no mountains. 🙂

About This Thread

Maintained by Vixx
Would like guidance from all levels of experience here please?

I have run 28 marathons, most were before some surgery (non-running impacting) in 2013. However, since then I had a knee issue and have done less marathon running. Knee issue is no longer, but I feel like I am psyched out of running the longer distances, which I used to enjoy (6hrs+ with no nagging!)

Last marathon was (I think) 2018. I am entered for next week's Manchester Marathon and have a place in October for Chicago...
