Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi everyone, I was considering buying a book called "Tornado Down" By John Nicholls and John Peters. I was wondering if anyone had read it and if you would recommend it?

It's set in the idyllic rolling hills of Devon and the remote farming community of Tornado Down - or more specifically the sleepy village of Tornado-under-nethers.

It tells the story of Alice is a sweet Country Mouse who grew up on Sullen Farm as the fifth daughter of the under-parlourmaid's diary secretary. Due to narrative causality she moves to the seething metropolis of Newton Abbot, where she takes employment as a seamstress and

(I was not a fan of the oliphant either. Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont rung a lot truer)

McG, your blog about the book group received a multitude of comments. Your subsequent blogs about yoga went positively viral.

I’m just warning you not to blog about a certain book by Geoff after or else you’ll probably break Fetch.

I’ve read TD. It’s alright. Got it for 99p I think for kindle or second hand. There’s probably a doco on YouTube that’d tell the story better. Can’t remember the writing being amazing.

I’d recommend We were soldiers if you’re after just any war book.
