I've had shin pain on and off for around 8 weeks now and I realise I should of stopped running earlier. Now I have pain just to walk it is the inner right shin and when I press I can find a sore spot. I've rested for 4 days done no cross training nothing but pain seemed worse this morning eases slightly as I walk but never fully eases. Also feels very tight and sore at the back of my ankle. Anyone any advice on what injury this is and recovery time? Can I cross train, walk or will that just delay recovery?

Get to A & E, get an x ray, make sure it's not a stress fracture

Preferably go to the doctor, rather than A&E. When I went to A&E with a suspected stress fracture they refused to x-ray as there was no recent trauma. They told me to see the doc, who would refer me for an x-ray.

Thanks I'm thinking its a stress fracture so just made appointment at a sports injury clinic for tomorrow as gp never helps if it's run related

They do after a while. New ones don't show up but they do once they start to heal.
