I am no expert on Glasgow, but looks very similar to the old Glasgow half route used up until 2012.

Championship marathons tend to be 4 lap affairs, often for spectator purposes. I guess the points where you can get to 2 parts of the route will be very busy meaning that you need to pick a spot and see runners twice only which is a pain

Actually on closer inspection, only parts follow the HM route.

Are both mens and womens races on the same day and if so do they have different start times ?

The route is decided for TV - they want to get the best bits of the city covered with the fewest number of camera positions.

Very disappointing, I was entered last year but never made the start line due to injury. Now it looks like I never will :( At a time when lots of races are going from strength to strength and are sold out months in advance. But it seems what has killed it off is a lack of volunteers to organise and support, not runners to participate.

Do many people do the jog Scotland 5ks now that there are all in one big weekend? I liked that dad came through to Edinburgh one week and I was in Glasgow with him the other week. I did Glasgow and Ed for a few years but I've no interest in these now they are at the weekend and I could do a free 5k at the weekend....

I'm in a bit of a grump with the jog Scotland 5ks. We had to cancel aberdeen parkrun last year as they arranged it to clash, which really annoyed me. This year they have "done everything possible" to avoid the clash... By moving it to 10:30am at the same place. Given they will need to set up, and we don't finish til nearly 10:30, I think there will still be issues. That coupled with a minimum entry fee of £18, and disappointing reviews from last year, means I'll be unlikely to do it this year. Will stick to parkrun!
