Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Lidl crumble topped - nice taste but disappointingly poor amount of filling.

Taste Test Battle - Morrisons "The Best Deep Filled Mince Pies" vs M&S "Collection"

Size: M&S look bigger. They win.
Pastry: both don't do a full cover. M&S pastry felt more crumbly and tasty, but also sometimes overwhelmed the mincemeat. Mozzas win.
Mincemeat: both absolutely fine. A tie.
Eating: Mozzas fell apart way too quickly, leaving me with mincemeat fingers and a messy plate. M&S held it together just long enough to be stuffed in my face. M&S win.
Cost: M&S ones were £3.50, which is a bit mental. Housemate bought the Morrisons ones, so they're free. Mozzas win ;)

Overall: I thought there'd be a clear winner, but they were both so nice I want to go back for seconds. But that will involve a trip to Morrisons.

Apologies that this isn't more informative. Mince Pies are delicious :)

Similar here last night between Waitrose Essential and Co-op. No discernable difference.

One 'el cheapo' MP from the local nanomart, with a selection of cheeses.

What cheese would you recommend for a cheese-beginner (ie no blue cheese!) to pair with a mince pie or 3?

Wensleydale: crumbly and full flavoured. Also, try Caerphilly or Cheshire.

I enjoy Rosary goat's cheese: fresh, soft and creamy, with a full flavour.
