Well? What do we reckon? Happy that the best cook just happens to work in a restaurant?

Last years winner (one of the guest ‘critics’) who I absolutely didn’t recognise, sounded altogether too much like a real food critic who has been in the business for years. I felt like he was interviewing for a job and was trying to show that he knew all the right words.

He did a bit Paula! It was nice to see Ping again. I enjoyed the show, I got emotional when Madheera got emotional. The bloke from the restaurant works front of house, but I guess he knows some chefs who could give him tips.

Did anyone watch the first episode in the new series last night? It was a very high standard imo. They've changed the format slightly so they cook 3 at a time while 3 of the other contestants watch on. Pookie is the early favourite if you trust twitter. I liked the guy with all the hair.

I watched although I have to admit that I usually find the early heats rather tedious.
I think Pookie might become rather irritating rather quickly, but that might be just me! I have seen a few of the Masterchef Aus recently - their format is a bit crazy...
