Gosh, that's last years sock thread I've done quite a lot of socksperimentation and my two pairs of Thorlos (short pair and longer, thicker pair for trail shoes ) and they are the best, though sometimes a thinner sock is better. For that, minardi, the ones I liked best were Nike dri-fit short socks. I also bought some trainer socks which were ok, New Balance vey light but a proper running sock, and (don't laugh) some George at Asda trainer socks, not the basic ones, but running ones which are pretty decent and a bit more padded.

I did love Hilly Twin Skin, but got blisters!!! Now love Karrimor twin skin. Softer and keep their shape better, with a bonus of a lot, lot cheaper.

I get on very well with Boots 'bamboo' socks (the thinnest ones which are meant to be liners or something?): super soft, a nod to natural materials and very cheap.
I've also started using Ininji crew performance liner running socks, though again I don't use them as a liner, I use them on their own. I was concerned about the separate toe thing, whether it would put strain in between my toes or have extra material bunching up but they've not caused any problems and I happily ran a marathon in them.
Good luck!

The double lined socks IMO are shit ,wear out way too quickly...in fact most socks seem to for me....but the single layers last longest. Got 2 pairs of Innov8 socks for fathers day, will see how they go
