Oooh hello LazyDaisy :-)

I was starting to think I was on my own this year. Usually there are quite a few of us on the thread.

How's training going?

Not bad because I did a Half last weekend, and I trained for that. I'll carry on with similar training and hope for the best! How about you?

Great that you've done a half recently. Mileage should be no problem for you.

Training going ok. I did 10.30m last Friday, so up to the mileage. I was hoping to do the Great Scottish Run last weekend but lots of things just got in the way as far as training was concerned. My speed is not good either so definitely not going to be a PB - maybe next year :-)

I'm hoping I'll get lucky in the ballot for London. Should find out mid/end of this month.

Yes! I'm in White wave along with son2 and, I imagine, my sis-in-law. You're faster than me I think?

I'm in white wave too, so our pace must be similar. At best, my pace kinda hovers on the boarder of orange/white wave, but past couple of years I haven't really managed to put the training in - been plagued by injuries.

I'm about to do a 9 miler this morning, then cut back a little until the race. Not managed to get to a race in this year so getting quite excited now :-)

I was intending to do 10 miles this morning but after gardening and 6 miles on Friday my thigh was a bit sore so I cut it down to 8 very slow miles. Beautiful morning though - it would be smashing if it's like this in 2 weeks' time!

Hope the thigh is better now LazyDaisy.

Yes, it was a lovely morning on Sunday and would be great if it was like that for the race. Did 9.5 miles on Sunday.

Yeah I'm doing it. If it's a windy day I'm not looking forward to the last 2 miles. Checking the forecast already and 20mph winds are forecast :-0

Unfortunately PLB my thigh is a lot worse :-(. I really thought it was just a minor strain, and ran 5 slow miles on Wednesday at club. The first couple of miles were really painful, and I should have stopped, but I was leading a group of not-very-confident runners so I couldn't :-(

I did parkrun yesterday and it wasn't too bad while I ran but then afterwards it ached all day. This morning I was determined to get a longer run in (stupid of me) and did 6 really slow miles. The first 3 were very uncomfortable and I was going to stop but then it seemed to ease, hence my extending the run to 6 miles. Icing and ibuprofen helped once I got home but now the pain is right up into my groin. I've clearly made things worse. I won't run again now until the race, and will keep my fingers crossed that a week will make a big difference to how it feels! Very unhappy because I really look forward to the GSR and I was hoping to have a good race.

Is there a thread for this already in existence? I can't seem to find one so thought I'd create on...
