Agree DavieC but unfortunately the men's 10k is run by a separate group. However if they continue to have sponsorship issues, then I can see it moving under the Nova banner as well.

I think £30 to enter a half is too much, I'm not paying it. I paid that much to enter the Edinburgh Half last year and swore I'd never do it again. There are plenty of races that offer lower prices and better value and I'll run them instead. I think that Neil McCover race that Debstir mentioned is a GP event for my club so that's a compellling reason to do it. A pity, because I have won a trophy the last two years at Glasgow. I 'll just let someone else win it in 2013.

Just wondering how much the junior races will be this year. Previous years I've paid £3 (with a Kidz Card) for my daughter to enter. She loves the junior race so hope it's not going to be too much of a difference.
£30 although quite expensive is cheap for Nova so I'm expecting it will hike up again next year. Great North Run is £49 and Great South Run, which is only a ten miler is £41. So does this mean there will be Powerade available then?

Hope they don't mess with it too much - I always did this one too (at least for the last 15 years). Be sad if it changes the feel of it - always good fun

Can't see Nova wanting to take over the Mens's 10K as there is not enough cash to be made.
Agree we need the marathon reinstated is Glasgow is to push it's claim as a big sports city.

Maybe this change opens up a slot for a marathon on the old date, then again, two big events so close is not good. That said Edinburgh have a half then 5-6 weeks later the EMF with another half and full mara plus 5k and 10k now. Up until last year both halves shared almost the same route

I hear that the organisers are now offering £4 off the half marathon to the first 6,000, and there is supposed to be a similar deal for the 10k if anyone is interested. Not sure how you know if your within the number limit though. Maybe they've taken note of the comments regarding the no early bird, or there has been a severe lack of response.

I think Nova were involved last year - it was certainly Nova who were controlling elite/ club invited entries - I would argue raising the profile of the event is good. I just hope it doesn't attract the entry price of the Bupa GNR - £49.50 is steep.
Date change is a bugger though - liked it in september.

I've signed up for this now. It'll be my first big race and it feels a long way off, but looking forward to it.
It's still currently £4 off entry, so £26 in total to enter just now.

Isn't it £4 off entry to the first 6,000? Have they not reached that total yet? Would like to do it as it's one of my usual races, and it's local for me, but not sure about the date with it being changed. The £30 entry fee put me off as well. Hmmmmm, decisions, decisions.
