No it was a case of picking a start time (done the Grimsby 10k and coastal 10k organised by tape 2 tape and it’s been the same for both races). It’s only the first wave that is finish time dependent.

Mr. Grumpy
One day to go…
Looks like it’s gonna be clear and dry, but with a Westerly wind at around 18mph, which has thrown a spanner in the works with my PB attempt.
Good luck everybody!

Thanks for the update Mr Grumpy

Not knowing the course will that mean we are running into the wind in the later stages ?

Mr. Grumpy
Yes Riggsy, but the course direction is favourable, as it looks like there could be a little bit of shelter from the wind on the homeward stretch. You can’t tell from this photo, but there are hedges etc along the side of the road on the way back:

Mr. Grumpy
Cheers Riggsy, and we’ll done to you too. I found the wind tough, and actually owe you an apology for the duff info. I interpreted the Westerly wind as being blown West, when in actual fact, the opposite is true. Dunno why I got it wrong, cos I know how it should be.
Anyway, good luck on your Rother Valley attempt. I ran it in 2019, but wouldn’t have put it down as a fast course as it can be a bit loose underfoot in places.

No problems Mr Grumpy

I see you did the Rother valley 10k the day after doing the half marathon.
I did the marathon that year at the running festival and set my PB. I also did it the year before as my first marathon.

2019 the course was very wet as Rother valley had been flooded to protect to towns Downstream
