flyingfinn, given the psychopathic mental state of weasels it was probably trying to stare you out while thinking 'I could take you, you know'.

The blackcap was back in my garden today! I though he wasn't going to make an appearance at all, but he did!

Spotted a barn owl this morning on Sutton Bank, just after 7am. Also, loads of red grouse on the moor. Not exactly uncommon, but haven't seen any in ages. I think the cocks are starting to round up the hens!

We disturbed a weasel in a stubble field - it was quite prepared to take us on and we backed off in awe. Great little creatures. A neighbour is convinced one did for her hens, most unpleasant so I understand why they are "vermin".
2 oystercatchers in Dorset yesterday.

A ferret killed 2 of my hens, Ferret67! He hung around so I caught him, and decided to keep him as he was so friendly.
Nice picture pedro!

[I fear that I, ostensibly the ultimate southern ponce, have just outed myself as a former ferret owner]
